    Keyless entry

    Hi All,

    Newbie here from UK
I have a 2014 RRS with keyless entry.
Recently, on a few occasions during the night, we've had a few occasions where car thieves have attempted to steal the car.

On all but the last occasion, they've been unable to enter the vehicle - we take good care of where e place our keys during the night.
In the most recent case, the thieves after several minutes did manage to enter the vehicle, but could not start the car.

How did they manage to open the car doors without the key and without the alarms sounding off?
Once in, why were they not able to start the car and drive off ?

Your key sends an encoded RFID signal to the cars computer. The security system will not start the car without the key present.

Hi there, I know your post is old and there has been spot of publicity recently of the keyless thefts. So you may Be aware of this but now but if not go on sites like amazon or ebay and buy yourself a RFID blocking pouch for about £5. It will help prevent this kind of theft.

There is also a different way to actually disable the keyless feature which also helps.
